ABOUT THIS VIDEO
By far, the most common type of eyelid twitch is called Myokymia. This usually involves one eye and one eyelid, usually the lower eyelid. When the twitch involves more than the eyelid, or lasts a very long time, then it could be a sign of something more serious. Different possible conditions could be facial myokymia or benign essential blepharospasm. These are usually benign as well. Another possibility could be a hemifacial spasm. Certain signs or extended spasms often need further testing and imagining to find the cause. This videos goes over what to look for and when it should be looked at by your doctor.
