Collar Ties Explained

Installing collar ties. Code says "upper third". Placing them just under the ridge maximize ls headroom. Remember collar ties purpose is to keep the rafters from opening up like a clamshell in high winds. A simple Google search explains this. Collar Ties and Rafter Ties aren't the same thing.
