Struggling Readers Intervention (previously called Stepping Up With Phonics) is a phonemic awareness and phonics guided lessons program for emergent readers with learning disabilities. It is created using researched-based principles and designed in a way that allows you as the special education teacher to use your data to decide how quickly or slowly to move through the program.
These lessons include phonemic and phonics practices that focus on the following skills:
Pre-Lessons 1-5: I can blend and segment two-syllable words
Lessons 1-10: I can blend and segment three letter words/sounds
Lessons 11-20: I can blend and segment four letter words/sounds with ‘s'
Lessons 21-30: I can read words with double ss and ll
