Wipeout! Patrick Blackwell surfs and skates at An Evening with Champions 2024

Patrick Blackwell performs a surfer-inspired skating routine at the 52st annual 'An Evening with Champions', held at Harvard University on September 13th. 2024.

PATRICK BLACKWELL, an 11th-grade student, started skating at the age of two and trains at The Skating Club of Boston. He is the 2023 New England Regional Junior Men’s Gold Medalist and won the Milwaukee Junior Team Cup in July 2024. Patrick recently competed in his first Junior Grand Prix in Ostrava, Czech Republic, representing Team USA, where he earned the Silver medal. His favorite part of skating is jumping, and he looks forward to adding more quad jumps to his repertoire. When not skating, you can find Patrick on his mountain bike, snowboard, surfboard, or trampoline.

'An Evening with Champions' is a public non-profit charity show, fighting child cancer by raising money for The Jimmy Fund, the fundraising arm of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Founded at Harvard in 1970, 'An Evening with Champions' presents an annual world-class figure skating exhibition, and has featured national and Olympic talents such as Nathan Chen, Michelle Kwan, Yuna Kim and Evan Lysacek.
