The 12V electric fence is still operational one year later.

Slugs are destroying my plants. It is only a low voltage and does not kill it; it simply prevents it from eating the vegetables! Using a 12 volt DC transformer or a 9-volt battery, create a simple electric copper barrier around your raised bed. This electric fence will keep unwanted garden pests like slugs and snails away from your precious seedlings and vegetables.

Simply wrap some wire around the outside of the bed in two strands, leaving a 1/4" gap between them and ensuring that the two lengths never touch.

The inner wire should then be connected to one terminal of a 9V battery or low voltage power supply, and the outer wire to the other.

When the slug or snail touches both wires, a circuit is formed, and it receives a shock and cannot move any further.

So, after using Nematodes to kill all of the slugs inside the bed and preventing them from getting in, I now have a slug and snail-free planter.
It works flawlessly.
