50th Anniversary Discovery Garden Dedication

Abington Free Library officially celebrated the opening of its new Discovery Garden on Saturday, June 25. Built as a centerpiece of the Library’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, the Discovery Garden was funded by the Friends of the Library and the sale of commemorative pavers.

The 50th Anniversary Committee Chair, Dimitra Seiler, offered a few words of thanks to various parties and then introduced Meghan Janoson, from State Representative Madeleine Dean’s office, who read a citation from the State House of Representatives saluting Abington Library’s record of service to the community. After a few additional thank-yous from Linda Connelly, representing the Friends of the Library, Executive Director Nancy Hammeke Marshal and Board member and former Board President Garrett Page cut the ribbon and welcomed the public into the Garden.
