A teenager who murdered his family and planned to carry out the deadliest school shooting in history has avoided being sent to prison for the rest of his life with no chance of release.
Nicholas Prosper, 19, killed his mother, brother and sister when they interrupted his plans to shoot more than 30 children at his former primary school in Luton.
Police footage shows him being arrested hours after the killings on his way towards the school, repeating “It’s not murder” to officers as he was handcuffed.
Prosper, a school drop out and social recluse who idolised the gunman responsible for the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012, and other notorious criminals, had carried out reconnaissance on his former primary school exactly a year before the killings.
He was sentenced to a minimum term of 49 years’ imprisonment at Luton Crown Court on Wednesday.
