As an MS-specialized physical therapist, here are the 4 exercise types I recommend to fight fatigue and increase your energy:
1️⃣ Stretching
Relieves muscle tightness so your body doesn’t waste extra energy fighting stiffness.
2️⃣ Resistance Training
Builds strength in both your MS-affected and supporting muscles so you can move more efficiently with less effort throughout your day.
3️⃣ Mind-Body Exercise (Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi)
Helps lower stress, clear mental fatigue, and improve focus, so you can feel more in control.
4️⃣ Cardio + Strength Combos
Short bursts of exercise + rest periods improve strength, heart health, and energy levels without pushing you into an exhaustion spiral.
Exercising with MS doesn’t have to mean pushing through fatigue.
