German parliament approves Merz's historic spending surge

Germany's outgoing parliament has passed an increase in government borrowing, which includes a change to the country's debt rules.

The conservative CDU/CSU and the centre-left SPD, who are currently in talks to form a coalition, have proposed a €500 billion fund for infrastructure.
