This Painting Will Give You Nightmares

Peter Birkhäuser had been dreaming of this man for four years. In his dreams, this man with two faces chased him with the intent to catch him. One day in his studio, he decided to paint this dream, creating one of the most disturbing paintings I have ever seen.

Known as the painter of dreams, this man, influenced by the readings of Carl Jung, dedicated himself to painting his nightmares for more than half of his life. Before he died, he left notes for over 3,400 paintings; and the most curious thing is that practically no one knows him. He was an misunderstood artist of his time due to the complexity of his paintings, and to this day, he remains practically unknown.

Get ready to discover an incredible artist you’ve likely never heard of.
