Walmart Employees Arrested After Stealing Over $10,000 From Cash Register

On August 24th, 2023, officers in Florida responded to a report of embezzlement at a Walmart Supercenter. The officers met with the store's loss prevention staff, who explained that Walmart management had been investigating suspicious activities by several employees for several weeks. According to loss prevention, these employees were suspected of fraudulently processing returns and embezzling money.
Surveillance videos reviewed by the investigators showed the employees involved in the scheme on multiple occasions. Typically, three employees would collaborate to complete a fake return transaction, withdraw cash from the register, and then pocket the money. This fraudulent activity was part of a deliberate scheme to defraud the store.
