This is heartbreaking. No kid should have to sleep on the streets. đź’”
I could not imagine telling my 18 year old “You’re on your own” 💔
I totally agree, don’t kick your 18 year old out just BECAUSE they reached a certain age. My son stayed at home till he was 28 & about to get married. There’s no way I would’ve or could’ve kicked him out, that is cruel. He was working, not great jobs but he was trying.
I don’t care how poor I am, so long as I have a roof over my head, I will never see my child on the street.
Parents kicking out their kids at 18 without support? That’s not independence—that’s abandonment.
Cities are building luxury apartments while thousands live in tents. Something is broken.
People say “just get a job,” but when rent is $2K+ and wages are low, how does that work?
Every major city is becoming unlivable. Housing costs are rising, but wages stay the same.
People don't realize that during the Depression, many family members lived together. They did chores and whatever they could to help each other out. Today, many people don't care; they'd rather not be bothered. It's all about them, and the hell with the rest.
I’m crying through this whole video. My grandmother saved my life. She had me live with her in a small 1 bedroom in Crown Heights Brooklyn. I was able to get a waitress job and a tiny apartment in Manhattan. I was able to start my teaching career in mathematics and I continued to teach until retirement.
My kids will live with me until they’re ready or live with me till I die. I refuse to let them be alone
The United States, as the wealthiest nation globally, should ideally have no homeless individuals. However, the reality is that we live in a society marked by selfishness and greed.
Why is homelessness treated like a crime instead of a crisis? We need real solutions, not just bandaids.
The cycle of poverty is real. Without affordable housing and jobs, homelessness will never end.
Only the most despicable parents do this to their own children. It just shows they've never had any love for their kids.
It’s not just about laziness—many of these kids had no choice. The system is failing them.
Without a stable home, it’s impossible to keep a job.
This was my dad. At 18 he said either go to college or join the military. My grades were not good so guess what? I spent 6 years in the Air Force on active duty. 3.5 years overseas. Spent my 19th birthday in boot camp and then my 21st in Iraq. It hasnt been easy at all. I guess my point is that people shoulsnt have to join thr military and risk our lives all for our independence from our families. The individualist culture here in the US is toxic. It's designed to extract the maximum amount of money as possible out of the working class in order to make the rich richer.
We spend billions on wars but can’t afford shelters for our own people. Priorities are messed up.
