Personal opinion, The Vision Pro will replace monitors, rather than actual products. The days of "cable management, HDMI Cables, TB4 Docks" are numbered. I see VisionOS evolving to be the ultimate "infinite monitor" workflow. I can see Apple opening the VisionOS monitor functionality to Windows Desktops/laptops giving gamers the ultimate 4K 300Hz+ experience. The iPad, iPhone and Mac will aways be around. After see the Vision Pro + Mac combo, I'm convinced that monitors and cables are going to be phased out within 5 years.
I haven't touched my iPad Pro since getting the Vision Pro, and I think you make some really good points. Another great video - and I'm really enjoying your Vision Pro content!
Great video. I have an AVP and still have not gotten tired of it yet. One question, what case is on your phone at 7:20 ?
I don’t think half of the customers want to put heavy binoculars on their head to view the internet…not for everyone.
Vision Pro is at least five years away from being viable and probably longer. Tablets will be around for years to come.
One of the things that I don’t like about the Google type augmented reality is the ‘unsafe’ feeling I get, blocked off from my surroundings. It looks here like you’re still able to see your surroundings live? I think you nailed it though. And I can’t see myself wearing that out in public😏
You mentioned something about a teleprompter app (?) at the beginning, maybe "A roll" or something like that?
I got a Meta Quest 3 coz of all the hype Apple created in MR/VR... and it totally replaced my iPad... instead of picking up my iPad for YouTube and X... also for web browsing while watching YouTube/Meta Socials like Insta, WhatsApp, FB, Messenger ... and also for Netflix ... Movies via HDMI to my TV... same with VPN for BBC iPlayer and UK ITV... also use it for a screen for my Mac... so... totally killed my use for the iPad, I can't imagine how good the VP is for iPad replacement... HMD's are awesome!
I think for a very select demographic, this very well could replace their iPad, computer, and eventually even their phone. However for the general public as long as the iPad iPhone and Mac’s are more affordable than the Vision Pro, it won’t replace anything at all large scale
your videos are amazing
I think it could in most situations. I didn’t shell out the money for the AVP but I did buy a Quest 3, and I just realized last night was the first time I’ve picked up my iPad in two weeks when I used to use it every day.
16:30 Meta Quest 3 is brighter than the VP!!! Go Quest!
After about 3 weeks with the Vision Pro, I hadnt hardly used my iPad. I ended up trading it in. There's about 2 apps I regularly use that arent available yet for Vision Pro, so I just use my phone for them. Haven't really missed the iPad but I understand that may not work for everyone.
I ain’t gonna give up my iPad!!! 😂
This is a great comparison video. I do find my usage of my iPad Pro has changed a bit. The Apple Vision Pro is so much better for video and some games that I’ve switched over to it for those use cases, even away from my AppleTV (unless it’s social viewing). For productivity use cases, I think of the AVP as a “desktop iOS” device like a Mac Mini and my iPad Pro more like a laptop now. I can get almost all of my work work done with iPad apps, and the ability to keep multiple apps open around me increases productivity, much like having a bigger monitor is a boost to productivity from a smaller laptop screen.
I vaguely remember mention of Vision Pro when you have prescription glasses. How does this go with your vision requirements in regards to prescription?
11:00 me Meta Quest 3 has an USB-C ... I loaded the 512GB Quest 3 with movie files from my Mac!!! go Android File Transfer!!!
I personally don’t see myself buying a pair of Vision Pros to be honest, I’m not a VR/AR person and find these headsets so uncomfortable. I love tech but these AR/VR googles concern me a lot. And I love my iPad
I still can’t believe that for this price they didn’t give us a single USB-C port! 😠
