I found out that the reason dogs tilt their heads when you talk to them is because it helps them capture sounds better depending on how their ears are shaped. It's a kind of echo location mixed with wanting to be sure they heard you properly. The reason they keep tilting back and forth is to show they are still paying attention to you. The gesture means, "What you have to say is very important to me and I'm making sure I don't miss any of it."

Who knew animals were the real geniuses? From squirrels flying planes to raccoons leading heists—wow!

@ClassieLawerance

Who knew squirrels were snowbirds and monkeys mastered delivery apps? Animals are clearly outsmarting us!

@Punki80

In the 90´s I had a pair of pet tree frogs (Hyla cinerea) and I used to put crickets into an open jam jar in the tank so the crickets wouldn´t escape. The frogs understood quickly that the jar would contain food in the evening and soon they would climb down their branches and into the jar, waiting for me to put food in it. It happened every single night.
