Flickering brake lights. … Absolutely brilliant. 🤣 if everyone was like this guy the roads would be a better place.
December is ‘crazy’ season on the roads! It gets worse the nearer you get to Xmas. Everyone who usually only drives to Tesco and back is out there!
8:17 looks like the kid checked to see if there was anything coming even though the adult didn't.
11:37 Great illustration to what that dashcam drive instructor, Neil something, says all the time. ”Drive staggered!” 😉
Thanks for leaving in the bit about the reflectors - it was nice to have a good laugh during one of these!
At around 2:45, I'm not changing my Focus either. Its a silver 2009 Focus 1.6 Titanium five door petrol manual. Owned since 2018 and I'm extremely happy with it. But more than that, it's the car that my very dear late Mum and I have traveled to so many places and events together and holds so many wonderful memories of very happy times. I still have some of Mum's possessions in it, including a lovely soft blanket I got from the USA for her. It's still on Mum's passenger seat. And she always commented on how nice the car looks. We both particularly like the high mounted rear light clusters (which are no longer the case on newer models) and the stylish multi spoke alloy wheels on the Titanium versions. Similarly, I would never part with Mum's 1978 Mini Clubman, which she owned from new. It's interesting how one can get so emotional about a car but when a dearly loved very close relative passes away unexpectedly, it's understandable.
Happy new year Ashley. What a delightful minute and a half about the lights after 06:00. Especially considering how some drivers thinking they see reverse lights on the car in front in a queue would be straight on the horn. Class act.
The reversing light one reminded me of an HGV driver who kept blowing his horn at me in a stationary queue, like going a bit mad - I got out and asked what was happening and he said there was green fluid dripping from my car. I pulled over into the adjacent bus stop and had a look just in case it was something worth bothering about. It was washer fluid off the back window, which was a bit rich with screenwash and I had just cleaned the rear window while he was stuck behind me.
I’ve been watching your videos for about a month, passed my test about 2 months ago and I’ve got to say, your videos have really helped me learn to ‘read’ the road and predict other people’s actions
Happy New Year to you too Ashley. I was just going to take this opportunity to also thank you for all the videos that you make and put out. It must take quite a bit of time and effort to sort through all the footage that you get sent. To also then sort out what's useful to your viewers. I always remember the first video I came across of yours where you called out the people sending footage of poor driving when actually they were worse (or at least not making the situations better). My driving has improved hugely over the last 2 or 3 years and your advice always sticks with me whether I'm on the daily commute or a completely new journey. Here's to another year of improvements (even if everyone else seems to be getting worse 😂). Have a great 2025. Cheers Matt
8:40. Recently I had to brake and back off for a man with his small child walking diagonally across the middle of a 4 way junction. The man waved to say thanks because I stopped to let him pass but his attitude was belligerent of ‘this is ok because we are in a rush’, while the kid clutching his hand was looking at the traffic around them with abject fear. [it was the kid who was the only one of them that had any road danger sense]
Great to see Delta taxis driving as professional as ever.
"no wander he's into paving' 😂
8:17 I think the kid already knew better than the parent, look at the way the kid keeps looking back while the parent never does
At around1:12 with the Nissan Juke queue jumping. Would really have been great if a police car showed up... or indeed had there been a police car in the queue itself, further ahead. I can just imagine Ashley's reaction, clapping his hands and saying "That was boss!"
Loved the interaction with the guy about the reflectors, glad you left that in, Happy New Year
The "right side rear reversing light" also reminds me of a story my dad told me once when he drove a Mark I ford escort which had the side mirrors mounted on the wings of the car (as opposed to being on the doors) When he was driving back from work one time he noticed in the side mirrors that it appeared someone in a brown ford car was tailgating him very closely behind then he realised it was his own car!
"Slow on the bend, or your drive might end." "Mirror, signal, then you steer—keep it smooth, keep it clear." "Green means go, but check to be sure—rushing the light could cost you more!" "Keep your distance, stay in line—tailgating leads to a costly fine." "Eyes on the road, hands on the wheel—drive with care, not just with zeal." You're welcome 😁Love the channel Ash!
11:05 Well done Ashley, you knew exactly what was happening, but allowed the woman behind just enough time to make herself look stupid. Happy New Year !
