@jamesrauch8668

Even if the switch 2 is 500 bucks, I would still buy it. It’s probably worth it.

@ProsenjitNakar

$400 definitely isn't an affordable price for most people

@LuffyBlazing

Mostly hype for Mariokart and just play old games with more power ❤❤

@CazDad

400 seems fair 500 would be ridiculous

@SketchBud

I can understand the extra cost of the new features like Wi-Fi 6 and a possible double screen.

@ignasia7230

400 I can accept. 500? No. Nintendo's Switch has only grown in terms of its profitability. It does actually cost them less to produce now than it did at launch, despite inflation. The only reason they haven't reduced costs is likely to backstop potential pitfalls down the road by building up their banked money, and having more flexibility if things go badly. Especially as video game sales for consoles are going down in general as the economy of the world is fairly wonky, and will be for at least a fair portion of this year, possibly a bit longer.

The Switch 2's cost for the age of the tech would probably still put them in profit range at 350, not even 400. 400 is likely to fill in profit gaps up front with initial production and game development (plus a lackluster 2024 and early 2025), and more importantly, potential price increases due to a number of factors.

The tarriff hikes will only impact the Switch 2 price so long as production remains in Mexico. If they actually invest in production lines in the US, that would negate the cost increases that are likely to be baked into the cake on launch, but I do think that 400 would be with that in mind.

400 is also tolerable, and flexible. 500? That would tank the system. I would hold out, and I know a lot of other people would as well. Buying games, sure, to add to my library until the system finally does hit a manageable price point, or until I just relent and give in. However the technology is probably about $200~300 in raw value. The Switch is somewhere around 50~75 at this point, maybe 100~125 at most. Especially with how much mass production has occurred for the chipset and general parts. The last insider info was from 2017, back when the Switch was still relatively new. Nintendo is VERY close to the chest with this info. Estimates for the added cost of the OLED? About 8~10 on launch. That's since gone down due to mass production.

So honestly, they could probably launch at $350 and make a sizeable profit, or 400 to account for tariffs, and reduce the Switch to 200. Then slowly reduce the Switch 2 to 350 if they do build a US production facility. I do feel bad for Europe though. They'll get jacked for general prices. Similarly with the UK. We complain about American tariffs right now, but historically, they've been super low for imports.

@firste1

I'm in on switch 2 I'm already preparing for price to get one .

@nx4715

I will buy it depending on what they show on the direct coming in april 2. If it has alot of bangers instant buy if not no buy, it's as simple as that

@sleeplikeacloud735

I say NO over $400, the Switch is more for children. If the price is too high they will lose their main customer base. Switch2 is going to have power like PS4, no one would pay over $400 for that in 2025.

@patches722

Nintendo doesn’t have to compete with Sony or Xbox, Nintendo knows what they are doing

@carolinaalvarez1775

I would definitely pay $400 for it! maybe up-to $450. $500 maybe for a version 2 with improvements

@CardcaptorLiShowron

It would be better if it launches in fall gives people time to save up

@gabrieladiaz4678

None of yall talking about how it has another button on the right Joycon…smh

@tinmanlover1994

I thought og switch came out in March 2017 or April 2017? My older brother and sister in law got it for Christmas that year

@barbasaurgaming

Nintendo has never been in competition with Sony or Xbox it’s completely different. The switch to will never be as powerful as a PlayStation five or an Xbox X

@patches722

I’d pay more than the price of Xbox series X for a switch 2! Been waiting with baited breath for years for it to be announced!

@sirhborn

im saving up for it. and if its good as the Playstation & X BOX IT might be worth it?

@theforgottengames4617

If the price will be $499 it will be the price I said from the beginning. Because I see what PlayStation and Xbox cost and everything is very expensive today (sadly). I didn’t get me a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X because of the price because I will never pay so much for a video game console. But I’m not sure about Switch 2, maybe I don’t get it either but I don’t know. But I know I can’t pay so much at the realise so if I get me a Switch 2 it will happen sometime in the future when I have so much money.

@DavidRussell-w7x

Financing maybe depending on if it’s more than 500 maybe I’ll have to work 23 hours a day then

@rinnegana.k.apurpleshariga9947

I hope they accept trade ins
