@ChrisPuckett

Watching Hal win TPC back in 2000 and seeing him in person at the Memorial are two of my best golf memories

@politicsuncensored5617

Two Time TPC Winner Hal Sutton is 100% correct. I still remember watching that day "Be The Right Club Today"! Shalom

@tonyk501

Don't need five majors, the four are fine as is, what is needed are more guaranteed tournaments featuring the very best players from both LIV Golf and the PGA competing against one another with more limited field sizes.

@RickyDunn-m6l

I remember that round!!! Was cheering for Hal the whole week!!!!!! Sunday 18th hole was Awesome and I couldn't have been happier on that Sunday!!!!

@wbwright79

one of the best interviews i've heard in years! somehow in the era of political correctness, mental self preservation, getting along with everyone else, comes one of the best scripted and produced talks that i could imagine. how to slay the Tiger, so to speak.

@Noeau

This was a great interview from a scrappy veteran who has the old school toughness and perspective the new generation of golfers need to hear from. The Euros always use Seve Ballesteros as their mentor and inspiration but US never draws on anyone for that. It seems like they are the Me and I generation. Inviting guys like Hal and Lanny Watkins(who stood up to Seve) and other veterans would give these young guns perspective and hopefully inspiration that is missing in these Ryder cup events.

@Downtownscalps

Where is the other part of Hal talking about how he almost gave up on golf and his dad was telling him to go back to work? I would appreciate this thank you. He really motivated me hearing that

@Tom_Swift

It doesn't need to be a major as golf already has 4 majors. Adding another major at this point would be silly. Do you retroactively give past winners a major title if they won?
With that said, TPC Sawgrass is one of the best courses and tests of golf in the world. The Players is a special tournament that stands up on it's own, it doesn't need to be a major... it's The Players.

@johnradovich8809

I followed Hal around Riviera in ‘83. Jack was on his tail. I saw Hal hit a ball in the deep rough and for several moments he considered going for the green from there. He then changed clubs, hacked it out sideways and got up and down. He won the tournament by one shot. That could have been the difference right there.

@YayaGolf777

Huge Hal Sutton fan, but Sawgrass doesn’t have the teeth for a major. Last year at the midway point the score was 14 under. No doubt it’s a great venue and full of history and one of my favorite tournaments.

@MichaelHendren-y1t

I had an old guy caddy for me once down in South Carolina in the late 1990s, probably around 97 at what was then a Nike tour event, now known as the Korn Ferry tour, he was a semi retired caddy that had caddied for Jim Colbert, Willie Buster Miller was his name, After he told me he had caddied on the PGA tour for 25 years or better, I asked him, who was the best player out there in your opinion, i said, Jack Nicklaus? He replied, the best player or the best ball striker, I said how about the best ball striker, he said Hal Sutton, hands-down.

@oatechaosincycles

Brandel pulled a southern accent out of his arse.

@mrrational2046

Australian open should be the 5th major.

@NicholasByrnes-rq6wq

I don’t, next they will be saying the Arnold Palmer invite should be a major too

@richardcutt727

There is no need for more 'Majors'. That is dilution of the historic. The Players is a top flight event. There are many others. The youngest Major was first played in 1934. Let's leave history alone. Making The Players a Major is akin to LIV golf - the rape of a historic game.

@lynseybell811

I’ve always loved Hal Sutton. I’d prefer x4 majors with a possibility of the PGA being international

@Whitemink32

Brandel Chamblee with a bit of southern twang in his voice there

@RepriseFan

Why would adding a 5th major be bad? Nobody has given a logical explanation why not. And if you did add it as a 5th would it be retro to all past TPC winners or only from that point forward? Just think if it was retro Jack would be at 21 majors and Tiger at 17, even Trevino goes to 7. I'm all for adding a 5th so I agree with Hal Sutton and Lee Trevino.

@tadhgoconnor434

Ben Hogan 99 Apex were in the bag.

@chevy4x466

As a much as I respect the masters and the players, a real major is not played at the same venue year after year. For decades the masters was my favorite tournament. However their are so many incredible golf courses on this earth, I love watching the best having a go at a place where every shot isn’t pre determined
