How do you see BMW's future and the European auto market amid rising Chinese automakers, Tesla's growth, and new European trade tensions? Be sure to watch:

@Berrfer

I'm a family driver in NY. My boss's car is a 2024 760i. Just 3 days ago, I have exactly that issue with the IBS (integrated braking system) with only 15k miles (3 months). As a driver, is an scary experience loose brakes, the pedal doesn't work until you pushing hard and then the brakes stop hardly, the person in the back was scary also. The only way to reset the fault (not 100% guaranteed) is to stop the car, push the parking bottom for few seconds until the dashboard messages disappeared.
In the bmw service store, they told me the part is expected to come in 2/3 weeks... But...
A friend of mine who dirve the same car and have exactly the same issue, is waiting for more than 3 months now...
For a brand like BMW is unacceptable.

@nickwinn7812

This is what happens when you add more and more electronic complexity to mechanical systems which never needed electronic "control" in the first place.

@abimaelcaraballo3779

My take about BMW's future: Shaky. Also, good engineering doesn't have to be expensive, in my opinion.

@6spdkeg

Ironic that a lot of these "safety" features are seemingly creating more and more issues for companies rather than being reliable safety features. BMW's ABS breaking system on the E46M3 is about sophisticated as I ever want my braking system to get. lol

@markoprusevic9175

German engineering. How to over complicate. Need to take off wheels to change light bulb etc masters at customer milking

@unhinged-menagerie

They should be fined $10 billion dollars for installing those hideous grilles.

@briannewman6216

A major benefit of BEVs is home recharging.
Investing in hydrogen is like investing in horses.

@4-SeasonNature

Double wammy: Chinese EVs + recall.
It was VW before. Now it's BMW.
Similarly things have been happening with Japanese auto companies.
Maybe it's just business usual. Maybe a new dawn is on the horizon.

@rogerfroud300

Yep, it's what I've always maintained, ie that 'German Engineering' which is lauded as being wonderful by enthusiasts is poorly designed and made. This is why it costs so much to own them.

@fgeiger41

What's crazy is only one website, AP News is covering this, but the miniscule cybertruck recall was plastered everywhere!

@iakona23

I am kind of sad to see the end of the era of these great German carmakers. If you go back to the 1970s until today, there were many quality car models produced with great engineering. It looks like they will all be wiped out during the transition to EVs.

@rogerstarkey5390

BMW
"Brakes MAY Work"

@craigruchman7007

You get unending negative press on a Tesla OTA software update, but next to nothing on an actual recall like the one BMW is having.

@medennis3467

My speculation is Tesla will produce both the robotaxi and the 25k vehicle at Giga Berlin using the new unboxed method. If and when I’m correct, legacy Europe will expire. None of the current players cannot compete in the BEV market now let alone when these two drop. Giga Berlin is set to double its output capability as to house them both. Ever wonder why Model 3 was never in the cards for Giga Berlin? Fiat, the Mini, the Gulf, etc. are fit for Europe, however, they are not producing EVs or at least very uncompelling ones and introducing and ramping the 25k/robotaxi there makes way too much sense. Combined with the new emissions standards coming in ‘25, legacy is just doomed.

@InfiniteG83

I don't own a BMW but seeing all the major automakers with a ton of recalls lately. Honda, Toyota, Ford, GM, Tesla, VW. Either the manufacturers cut corners / didn't properly test or design systems, or partners in their supply chain didn't. It really only takes one bad part and vehicles today are more complicated than ever.

@globalismoblackman

I am avoiding BMW stock like a plague. I never ever thought i will be making this statement in my lifetime. Extremely disappointed with the company management.

@alistairlogan6755

Traditional auto is now in a death spiral. They will sell lower volumes , receive less revenue against a fixed cost base. Economies of scale work in reverse and it becomes increasingly more difficult to make a profit. Their huge debts become unmanageable. Their only option is to spend more to develop compelling EV’s which deliver lower margins in the short term. No CEO is willing to do this so are kicking the can down the road with Hybrids. That will not work in the long run

@wer-66-bur

Has these BMW recalls effected other manufacturers who use some BMW parts? Specifically the Toyota Supra?

@musk-eteer9898

when your competitors making mistake just stand back and watch.
