Remember the old days, before we had cabin filters?? The first one we ever had was our 2003 Ford Windstar. It was easy to change because it was outside of the cabin, just under the windshield on the passenger side. Where a human being could get to it 😉

I had no idea til I saw this and I brought it up to my dad and he said eh it's probably expensive. I said it doesn't matter because it smells we pulled it out today a it was black a crusted with rodent poop I can't believe I was breathing that it and probably why a former car I had smelled like wet dog every time it rained despite how furiously I cleaned the interior I have health problems that effect my lungs so I am very grateful for this information.

Good video but to access the cabin filter varies from car to car. This car is very simple but others are more involved like removing retaining clips, then unhooking a latch on the side. Not to mention some cars the filter is located outside under the windshield

My daughter bought a used car and it smelled like someone had peed in the car. We tried everything to get rid of it with no avail. And then we changed the cabin filter and the smell went away instantly.
