Great 100 minutes worth of content Jim, K-Lo and Thrash (and thanks for alerting me on Instagram about this)! Once again, it was 3 guys just sitting around having a conversation like being at a bar or just hanging out somewhere and I felt a part of the conversation - even though I couldn't chime in, but will provide some interaction here like I do on the super great TTIAST podcast episodes! I have 0 musical talent, but I LOVE music and it helps me get through every day and this episode here does that as well, so thank you! Okay, I love hearing about bands you listened to or still listen to and I've seen so many of them....the Eagles (my first favorite band as a kid), Huey Lewis & the News (huge fan - saw them at least 3 times), Van Halen, Rush (seen them at least 7 times),. Poison/AC-DC/Def Leppard and all of the hair bands are near and dear to me from my hockey playing and working days with the Capitals....I actually came to country music a bit later in life (early 90s) due to the awful Grunge movement displacing hair bands plus via a co-worker from Mississippi who was into country...and then I met my now wife in 1998 and she loved country music, so I've slowly converted. The nice thing about coming to country music late is there is so much music I can go back and listen to like it's brand new...I did that with the King, George Strait, and often wonder, how did I miss that? But I grew up in suburban Maryland in the Casey Kasem era so country was mostly only heard when it crossed over like Dolly, Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Daniels, etc. Love hearing about how K-Lo and Thrash started out, their hits, beliefs, songwriting efforts and their families...I can never get enough of the songwriting stories. As for guilty pleasure, my first concert was the BeeGees on Spirits Having Flown Tour at old Capital Centre. I was in 8th grade so I didn't want people to know I was going because I thought I would be perceived as uncool given the at the time backlash on disco. Surprisingly, like being a quiet Trump supporter/conservative here in Deep Blue MD, the next day I had so many people come up to me quietly and tell me how cool it was that I got to see the BeeGees and they were so envious and supportive (I guess I was underground, LOL)....just like K-Lo, Thrash, TK and Kurt have experienced with their ground breaking Try That In a Small Town song! Anyways, thanks for the great episode and keep up the great work...looking forward to TTIAST Podcast Episode 31 on Monday!
