It still amazes me that people think Yellowstone is Disney World. I wonder if she tried to pet the fluffy cow next
She got 4 days in jail, ban from the park for one year. "Dehring was also given one year of unsupervised probation and will have to pay more than $2,000 in fines and other costs."
She really thought that bear couldn’t close the distance before she got away..
There are signs all over the park that pertain to distances to be kept from animals. Stupidity is no excuse. When thinking of approaching a grizz, remember, they can run over 35 m.p.h. and will catch you if they want you.
I was near this women, (but at a safe distance) watching the bears. She should be banned from all National parks for her irresponsible behavior. Luckily someone provided her license number and photo to park officials.
You know what the sad thing is…if this bear had successfully mauled and/or killed this woman, the bear would get blamed for it and euthanized. Not because it was the bear’s fault…but because the stupid, arrogant, and narcissistic parents who raised this woman would sue the park being like “How could they let something like this happen to our poor daughter” instead just letting her take responsibility for her own foolishness. That is the sad thing about the laws in our country. They reward stupidity and narcissism. If you do something foolish, and you get hurt as a result, it is YOUR FAULT! TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! Don’t go looking for someone else to blame or sue. GROW UP!
I was rooting for the grizzly bear. Darn, missed, again.
I would not feel bad if these bears gets a fat meal that day.
She's lucky she was distracted by her phone. It's possible the bear did not advance because she did not react, so he backed off. The grizzly was testing to see if she would flinch, but luckily the woman was distracted by her phone, and thus did not 'flinch/move suddenly' Alot of animals do this, such as elephants/lions, they'll pretend to advance to see if you react, and if you stand your ground they usually back off. But if you flinch you are screwed.
I don't which is worse; this lady's idiocy or her total disrespect for the rules and the animals
We almost had one less ignorant person in the world..... almost.
She went right near them and got surprised when it wanted her to go away
She'd probably survive the attack with all that natural padding
I can explain. Bears don't have good vision, so once he charged closer and saw that she weighed more than the bear, the bear called off the charge.
Another Karen. If it had been a black bear, she would have called the police to report a threat to her life. She's probably still whining.
I am here because I just read that she is now facing 4 days in jail and a year ban from Yellowstone.
They behave as if there was fencing between them
A bucket list is about doing things before you die, not doing things that can get you killed. This has been a public service message from the People's With Common Sense.
Stupidity knows no boundaries.
