This is way different than what they were showing just 7 or 8 months ago where the drone would basically come down to ground level and release the package, not drop it from 20 feet in the air. I live in Oklahoma and I can see that being a problem on a windy day, of which we have fairly often. I don't want to have to go to my next door neighbor and explain that my delivery got blown into their backyard. I liked the idea of the drone basically landing as opposed to this latest design.

Stupidest design ive ever heard of or seen in my life, dropping anything from 12 feet up is dangerous, and then not delivering a package over certain factors such as a dog being in the yard or something is really stupid, it should be able to detect obstacles, dodge them, then land before dropping the package, not dropping it from 12 damn feet in the air, and how stupid would that be to see your package arrive, and then someone walks by and the drone gets "scared" and flies back to the ware house with your package still inside, that would the biggest middle finger istg, have to go through the whole delivery process again, this is absolutely the stupidest thing ive ever seen genuinely get released, this concept is so absurd that I thought it was a sci fi plot at first

This is why the FAA is kicking hobbyist drone and model airplane flyers out of low altitude airspace. Money talks when it comes to the government. I can't really see that it's worth it and bunches of these things from other companies will cause problems.
