@ModestlyMinimal

I made a stupid mistake! The jeans aren’t $161… they’re only $139!

@Stan_sprinkle

8:27 man I miss living in Seoul for the tailors. They’re everywhere. I used to go to a quite famous tailor who always did it right. Hemming jeans: $10. Waist: $15. Shortening the arms of a blazer by pulling it in and reconstructing it “at the shoulder!”: $45. Now in Austin, $40 just to hem pants is about the best I can find. I can do it myself, but I won’t for anything that’s costly

Love this opening , do not apologize for it!

Most mass market denim is vanity sized by 2-3 sizes.

@CallSignCobra

Biggest piece of advice I can give anyone just getting into selvedge denim, is the sizing chart is your best friend. Measure, measure, measure. Get as close to the measurements as an old favorite pair of jeans and you should be good to go. Also, everyone worry’s about the waist measurement. Yes, it’s important but the waist will stretch a little over time. For initial best fit focus on thigh measurement, as it tends to stretch less than the waist. Try to find a happy balance and enjoy em.

@ryanr4181

i wear a 32 in Brave Heart and i order a 34 and they fit great

@sfdx_brian

Most US jeans use vanity sizing. Just know your actual waist size. Go to a brands website to find their sizing. You will also see rise, thigh, knee, ankle. Then follow videos or their guides on where to measure your current jeans. Most of my jeans measure around 17 at the waist, but are size 32 or 33. 17x2 is 34 of course. With a cloth tape measure, I am a 36, but maybe I am still measuring wrong as 34.5 seems to fit fine for me. Then I know I need a 8" cuff to go over my heel/ankle easily. The other measurements help me decide on the styles fit, some have to be straight, others can be slim or tapered. I just use their sizing.

@mach16j

sizing can be tricky. Make sure you always look at the size chart and see what the actually size is. Get a soft measuring tape and measure out pants that fit you well and compare it to the size chart. It should be easy from there

🤔…Do you also like garlic aioli, flannel & craft beer?

@Danilyn_Livao

Thanks for being so detailed and transparent—this definitely helps with making an informed decision! 🙌

@philipbeadle6446

You're lucky you were able to exchange the jeans! I had to spend months (years if you count them cumulatively) "breaking in" Gustin jeans. And they're still a bit too slim tbh. I now exclusively buy from brands that have a "relaxed tapered" fit or have a true "straight" fit (Gustin's straight is still pretty slim).

That's not to say I don't like the things I've gotten from them. I have a lot of their stuff that's great for the price point. It just is built for much skinnier people than me.

Also, cuffing jeans looks good! You just gotta own it

@ryanteigne901

From a 33 to a 37 is quite a jump. I’m usually a 33 myself in jeans, and I ordered a 35 based on their chart. But now I’m second guessing ha. What other Jean brands are you a 33 in?

@davidrudebush6629

How do you suggest washing Gustin pants? They all seem to recommend hand washing and drip drying but c'mon, how realistic is that in today's modern world? What happens if you run one of these through a standard wash and dry cycle?

@TheWorkzBeatZ

I have to get MY pants hemmed because YOU hate the rolled jeans look. Noted.

@TheDuke4878

I wear a 34 in pants so should I get a 38 ?

@dt1595

Great video ❤

@esoteridactyl

Did you do the full sizing guide measurement thing? You weren't 100% clear but it did sound like you did?

@alexkishkovich7806

A difference between Walmart Jeans and Gustin is the same as between Gustin and japanese selvage jeans like Momo, Oni, Samurai etc. Do not stop with Gustin.

@carloscort7604

So you don't know much, yes you have to measure your wait and go by the number not the size

@htht856

Gustin jeans are for early 2010 emo screamo rockers
