Canadian here! Portaging is a very real thing and very popular up here! It's what you call canoe camping basically. The actual "portaging" part is the act of carrying your canoe over land/small segments of trail between bodies of water!
Didn't catch all of the episode Live but I love that you are back with the live shows and how you and Emory discussed Section Hiking. This makes me so happy that you all discussed section hiking as an option. I can't tell you how many times I've talked to people about section hiking and the first question that comes next is "but when are you going to thru hike the trail"? I have a full section hike of the AT under my belt and almost done with a second section hike of the AT. Thank you for sharing on this topic! #sectionhikers
I’ve enjoyed your content over the years, hope you and yours are doing well. Keep up the good work.
I looked at your bag on the site but it did not have a photo of the inside. I hope it's a light interior, bags with black insides are a no-go for me because I don't want to have to use a flashlight to see inside my bag. Can't wait for the wool hoodie.
Very happy for ya Darwin, been following for a while and have seen all the vlogs. Do I miss your vlogs on your treks, heck yeah, but I know your growing and wish you the best. I'll keep following for sure.....
Snow: your favorite thing to hike in.
Good to see you back..understand burnout… but you’ve come back to it your way😊 Thanks to Jonathan! Been doing some winter hiking on OHT . Hoping to do the triple O this yea r. Keep putting the new stuff out there!
the GOAT has returned
Pause: Out to the hammock for alot of stuff from Darwin. Got a nice insulated Superior Gear 0F Elite Hammock strung up & waiting in Granny's back yard here.
Good to see you out there Darwin. Pinched a nerve in my back but should soon be back in action. Sorry if I missed any messages. I was gone for awhile too. Inam out here. You & crew keep up the good work.
man, ive been section hiking the cdt and colorado trail for years.... i dont care if i don't finish either. this is such a profound video... if its not fun for you and its absolutely impossible to be present with yourself in nature, you need to step back. the pressure for miles and water carries and hurry hurry is the same if i just fucking went to work. no thanks. love ya nick and greatful for everything youve done and moving through.
I like you (been following for years) and your company and philosophy behind that, but the prices are a bit too steep... If i want to buy backpack from EU the pack costs me 415 eur (shipping+VAT incl) that is too much for backpack imho...
AT-PCT, hikers seem to spend lots of nights in hotels etc. And don't forget all the trail magic, seems like a hotel & Restaurant trip with some camping thrown in for good measure.. No such things exist in the UK on most National trails. Try the Pennine Way wild camping , next time you visit England. 😅
Did you send a message on hiking those other countries. Sorry if I missed it. I feel like I came across something & a bunch of stuff happened, ended up on busses up through Green Bay & into Ely, MN & lost the message.
I could never get burnout hiking the long trails and I will hike the whole trail at once, no apologies. It's possible to hike the whole PCT, just leave early enough to do it. It's sustainable for me long term.
So happy that we will get to see you more often 😁 I was wondering if you will come up with a big brother for the Ranger, I'm not light enough yet for a 35/40L capacity. The pack looks Awesome.
I missed the Q & A but one of the big questions I have is if you're gonna sell Evolved Supply Co. stickers to slap on the side of a Talentini Gelato Jar for cold soaking.
I’m doing the AZT starting March 22, would the sun hoddie be available by then?
Thx Jonathan!
