Maybe the “e”in iPhone 16e stands for “essential” since it only has the essentials (well obviously). It even lacks of MagSafe.

It's just a psychological move by apple in convincing the customers that Ohh look you are getting so much more if you just spend 200$ more and buy the 16 rather than 16e.

It is too expensive. iPhone SE3 started at 429 USD in 2022 Economy phones from Android world are priced at that level or even better. If new economy iPhone is priced at 599 USD like flagship Samsung S24... it is simply ridiculous...

If there’s a 16e there will also be a 17e and 18e and so on… I liked Apple upgrading SE after 3 or 4 years but now there will be minimal changes each year so I think I’ll wait.
