I am so envious of your ability to be in the moment and admire the doors
Thanks Wayne, I love the simple local markets, amazing doors , and of course the beautiful chantik Bali lady.
Speaking the language fluently is the game changer, for sure.
4:48 I love this store in batu karu. I love these balinese sweets made from rice and coconut. I went there every morning last January when I stayed in Ubud for only 10days. I can't wait to get there again. I'm a Japane woman and live in Tokyo. I always enjoy your videos ❤
Market lady was astoundingly pretty and her age blew me away, ref the doors, well, they are just graphic artwork on their own, beautiful colors and art work. Let’s hope the weather eases soon for you, get more sun and blue skies 👍. Safe travels till later,
You answer (Becik Becik) when someone ask in Bahasa Bali (Ken Ken Kabare), which means Apa Kabar, or What's happening. It's fun to use and the Bali people love it, when speak a little Bahasa Bali. 🙏
I get the impression that peace and tranquility comes with the dinner in Bali ? incredible !
Fantastic video, Wayne. I visited a revered old (now deceased) Balinese artist - Lempad's residence. A compound just near the one with the spectacular doors. It was located on Jalan Raya opposite the markets. My partner and I met his family and it was a wonderful experience. Their (Balinese) warmth and hospitality is unsurpassed. Thanks again, man. Peace.
Oh Klepon (green dumpling with coconut and brown syrup in middle)!!! My absolute favourite. Your making my mouth water Wayne x
Yes Hanuman, I have a very very thick book all about him to tackle. Strength, loyalty, protectiion and so much more it seems. Certainly will know once the book is read. Love the carved doors. Thanks for the walk around Wayne.
You’ve got a great channel here mate, long may it continue.
Great walk around Wayne 😊 Love your warmth and willingness to talk to all. Everyone seems to respond so openly and kindly to you too!
Love your work, there is a saying 'You learn a lot about someone when you share a meal together." You seem to embody that ideal, its wonderful.
At first l misunderstood and thought she was 21....not surprised..but a child of 21! 😮 She is truly beautiful with such a lovely smile...💕🌴
3 cyclones surrounding Indonesia causing all the rain.I can just feel the mould growing on my walls and ceilings😒.Have a great day Wayne, hopefully the rain will ease off soon.
Hi Wayne, it was so lovely to connect with you yesterday 🙏🏻 thank you for your generosity with taking the time to connect with Nathan and I we so enjoyed getting to meet you🎉 If people are keen to know more about the Sumantra Guest House - while it’s a great location the rooms require a little modernism / attention and the wifi is exceptionally slow but with the weather it’s hard to know if that’s causing an impact. Safe adventuring Emma and Nathan
Indonesians do have notoriously sweet tooth. When an Australian company started to make ice cream here in about 1970 they had to change the formulation significantly, and produce much more chocolate ice cream than other varieties. (We are on Gili Meno at the moment and locals have described the rainfall as extraordinary even for the rainy season).
I visited Ubud very briefly in 1999,but years later lived in Jakarta. Bali was my first experience of Indonesia. Your videos are really interesting and it's fun when you meet the locals and tourists. Thanks so much, Wayne!
The doors are stunning. If you ever get to Zanzibar they have some wonderful doors too.
