In hindsight, hiring an actual child for a show like this is fucking insane. I don’t care how good of an actor she was. they definitely did not give a shit about her
“taylor needs to socialize more with the cast” taylor: im 12!!!!
It's so creepy that they let teenage Taylor Momsen kiss all of these 20 something male actors just smh
Glad a lot of people are being understanding of Taylor. She was a child, it is unreal she was EVER considered for such a show.
i am such a fiend for a video essay on a tv show i’ve never seen a second of 😅
“even as a lesbian, I can see that this is a beautiful man” as a massive Nate fan, this feels like the best stamp of approval 😩
It sucks for the rest of the cast and the crew, but I also have so much empathy for Taylor. She was a 14 year old being forced to work in an adult environment, on top of all the other pressures. She acted out in the same way all 14 year olds act out 😭 its just sad that she was put in a situation that her actions would effect so many other people
The older I get, the more apparent it becomes that Leighton Meester was the backbone to the success of Gossip Girl (between the cast members). Blair was my highschool's it girl of 2007-2010. All the girls in my class wore headbands because of her. I just can't imagine any other actress pulling off such an unlikeable and selfish character - just to end up being the public's favorite. Knowing Leighton's background now, she doubly deserves every blessing that's sent her way. ❤
I love how Penn and Leighton don't have their eyes crossed out in the thumbnail
Taylor was forced to do the show. When her words and desires were ignored, she spoke with her actions. The network and her parents were not listening to her, but when she inconvenienced them and cost them money, she spoke in a currency they paid attention to. This is mostly her parents and the network’s fault. She was tired of her talent being used, of being forced to smile and of having no choice but to continue to make money for others.
Rest in peace Michelle Trachtenberg 💔 You will always be an ice princess to me ⛸️🩵
Blaire’s character was complex. Serena’s was not. I’d weather a guess because Leighton’s acting capabilities were better lol.
everytime the camera goes back to you your cat is in a different position I love it haha she's the best
Wow, eerie timing on this one with the news about Michelle Trachtenberg today. R.I.P.
12:11 if she was forced into acting, I can see her being late and not showing up being her teenaged rebellious way of expressing that. If you don’t have the autonomy to get out completely, the best you can do is sabotage it. I don’t think she maybe was even doing it maliciously. Just that teenage “ugh, I hate this” and just behaving in alignment with those feelings. I don’t think she sat and calculated how best to be a pain, is what I’m saying. She was a literal child, acting childishly, in response to an adult not respecting her dreams and wants. And more likely than not, by an adult trying to live vicariously through her.
Omg Taylor was THAT young?? I always thought she was 16/17... She was a child!! Glad she found music. Her and her band sre amazing ❤
Finding out that Blake Lively is basically a nepo baby makes so much sense.
I never knew how much i want a video on Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck before 😂, i would absolutely LOVE to see this! X
I had no idea Taylor Momsen was Cindy Lou Who. How the Grinch Stole Christmas came out in 2000 and Gossip Girl premiered in 2007. That poor girl was forced to grow up way too quickly, a cautionary tale. I never got over Jenny being raped by Chuck Bass then shamed for it, and she had to act that with a real abuser who was way older than her. 😖
