I'm 10 mins in and we can see the guys confused about the snapshots and the original characters. Anyone that enters the loop will spawn Snapshots of themselves. Look at Agent Jonsy. He entered the island, with a device to allow him to keep his mind, to investigate it. After he left, Snapshots of him popped up in future loops. But not just exact copies. Warped versions of him appear as well. Hence why there are so many Jonsy variants. (He does return to the island in different disguises as well, so more Snapshots and more variants). Snapshots can also be spawned straight from OG characters without the OG's entering the island at all. We see this in the season with the Hunters ( The mandalorion etc)

27:24 it wasn’t just middle schoolers, I was a correctional officer at the time and me and a bunch of the homies from work were checking in every couple hours to keep each other up to date if the game came back online. In that time we got to catch up on other games though so it was cool.

i would say this entire Fortnite lore explanation was way too joky and did not at all bring up the actual awesome parts of how cool the story is, if you want the whole thing and more focus on the more fun sides of it i can help out
